Bettane & Desseauve

(Notes from the 2013 vintage)

The combination of aromatic Sauvignon Blanc and Gros Manseng results in a fresh and light cuvée on the palate. A beautiful balance of floral and yellow fruit notes for a structured, lively, and energetic cuvée... A very elegant and delicate white wine!

Rated estate (2023 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)

About the estate:

Alain Brumont develops his personality through a style that has made Madiran wines famous throughout the world under the Château Montus label, which he bought in 1980. Often bucking conventional wisdom, Brumont's vintages reflect his great freedom in interpreting terroirs with yellow and red clay subsoils, ranging from 20 to 40%. Tannat is featured in the château's three wines, Prestige, XL, Montus and La Tyre, and certainly delivers the most spectacular profile of this difficult-to-handle Pyrenean grape.
