Western Cape

The Western Cape is a vast wine-growing region in South Africa, renowned as the country’s primary wine-producing area.

The first vines were planted there in 1655 by the colonists. French Huguenots, who arrived later, brought their expertise and contributed to the development of viticulture in this region.

The region is home to many famous appellations such as Stellenbosch, Paarl, and Franschhoek.

It has a maritime climate, with consistent warmth and plenty of sunshine.
