“A top-notch vintage!”
"This superb dry Riesling offers notes of orange peel and orange blossom, as well as a multitude of yellow fruit nuances. Concentrated and succulent, with a wonderful mineral freshness that lends it a fabulous delicacy. The finish is very long and concentrated. And this wine is only just beginning to open up. It comes from three plots on limestone soil, one of which is planted with a mass selection of exceptional genetic diversity.” (James Suckling 2024)

Rated estate (2024 guide) 4*Stars (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)
About the estate:
Jacky Barthelmé puts it bluntly: “We’re very happy with 2021 because it was a winemaker’s vintage. Those who were out in the vineyards got the grapes. It didn’t happen on its own. ” And it’s clear that tasting the lineup proves him right: Pinot Noirs as successful as ever, Rieslings of great beauty, and even Pinot Gris wines that display a drier balance than in the past—which can only delight us.

Wine rated (2025 guide) 96/100
Rated estate (2024 guide) 3*Stars (These represent the pinnacle of French winemaking. The finest terroirs cultivated by the greatest winemakers. Tasting their wine is always a magical experience)
About the wine:
Quite restrained and crystal-clear, the Furstentum Riesling has a distinctive character, punctuated by lively bitter notes on the finish: it will age gracefully.
About the estate:
The estate, born from the union of the Mann and Barthelmé families—two distinguished lines of winemakers dating back to the 17th century—produces wines of the very highest caliber, emblematic of the finest that Alsace has to offer. Maurice, an inspired biodynamic winemaker and occasional dowser, has brought purity to the wines through meticulous work in the vineyard. Jacky and his son Antoine possess a highly refined sense of winemaking for both whites and reds. The balance of the wines, their approachability, and their depth make them models for all wine lovers. Their four reds rank among the very best of Alsace and are among the finest in France. This success has now made them rare wines.
