“Made from old vines located in Wettolsheim Rosenberg and Kientzheim Altenbourg, the 2022 Pinot Gris Cuvée Albert opens with reduced notes of flint, featuring a fresh and intense nose of fruit, as well as mineral notes. Round and generous on the palate, with a rather creamy texture, this is a fairly rich and intense Pinot Gris—supple yet very long and with subtle tannins—that beautifully showcases the richness of this grape variety, while presenting itself as a dry, textured, and well-balanced wine that calls for heartier dishes. Sealed with a screw cap, this is by no means an aperitif wine or an easy-drinking wine. It has a salty, intense, and elegant finish.” (Wine Advocate 2025) (Screw cap)

About the estate:

The estate, born from the union of the Mann and Barthelmé families—two distinguished lines of winemakers dating back to the 17th century—produces wines of the very highest caliber, emblematic of the finest that Alsace has to offer. Maurice, an inspired biodynamic winemaker and occasional dowser, has brought purity to the wines through meticulous work in the vineyard. Jacky and his son Antoine possess a highly refined sense of winemaking for both whites and reds. The wines’ balance, approachability, and depth make them models for all wine lovers. Their four reds rank among the very best of Alsace and are among the finest in France. This success has now made them rare wines.

Made from a handful of vineyard plots with vines ranging from 25 to 35 years old, planted on limestone and limestone-marl soils. Made from biodynamically grown grapes. Ready to drink now or for aging. Screw cap.
