“An ode to pleasure”

"This natural wine is both wild and magnificent, with a wealth of aromas of candied orange and floral honey on a full-bodied yet very lively palate. I don't know where its 15% alcohol content is hiding, but the touch of sweetness certainly has something to do with it. The fine tannins develop impressively in the highly expressive finish. A blend of Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, Riesling, and Muscat.” (James Suckling 2025) (Orange wine is a white wine made through maceration)

Rated estate (2023 guide) Cité

About the estate:

Mathieu [Deiss] also founded the Vignoble du Rêveur using his mother’s vineyards in Bennwihr (where he produces, among other things, top-tier orange wines). The wines are unconventional for the region, which can be a bit disorienting for the consumer, but the result is magnificent. With a few years of hindsight, we can analyze the precision of the terroir definitions and these wines’ ability to maintain their own balance. Don’t miss the estate’s unique geo-sensory tasting experience, which helps you understand the relationship between the wine’s characteristics and the terroir that gave birth to it.
