"A Beaujolais-style Chardonnay"
“Seductive, rounded aromas of sun-kissed yellow apples captivate the senses, accompanied by notes of white tea and dried white flowers. On the palate, the wine opens with orchard fruit notes that mingle with hints of the forest floor, before plunging decisively into a bath of damp stone on the finish, imbued with a sensual minerality. Pair with oysters, seafood, and grilled or roasted poultry.” (Wine Enthusiast 2025)

About the estate:
Located on the border between Burgundy and Beaujolais, this château takes its name from Sieur Bonnet, a councilman of the city of Mâcon, who had a manor house built there in 1630, where Lamartine later stayed. Acquired by the Perrachon family in 1973, the estate comprises 22 hectares of vineyards. Pierre-Yves Perrachon, who has led the estate since 1988, was joined in 2013 by his daughter Charlotte, an enologist. He has also partnered with a winemaker from the Mâconnais region to complement his vineyard operations with a wine merchant business, Bourgogne Sélect.

I was disappointed by this white Beaujolais. It’s a Chardonnay that lacks tension and acidity and feels a bit heavy. I much prefer the wine from Domaine des Capréoles. But it’s still good!
