Domaine Cordier - Beaujolais-Villages Les Grandes Plantes 2012

Domaine Cordier - Beaujolais-Villages Les Grandes Plantes 2012

2*Coup de Coeur

Hachette

Note: Guide Hachette 2**(Remarkable wine) + Coup de Coeur
"Christophe Cordier proves himself equally talented when it comes to Gamay, as evidenced by this 2012 vintage, which delighted the grand jury and boasts an intense, brilliant garnet color. The nose releases powerful notes of blackcurrant and spices. The palate is round and full-bodied, delivering aromas of black fruits with a hint of vanilla. Harmonious and very concentrated, this Beaujolais-Villages has the potential to age for several years and will be wonderful with roast chicken." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2014)

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2016 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

A workaholic with a passion for terroir, Christophe Cordier is always on the move, his businesses constantly expanding, both the family estate and the wine trading business. In both cases, he has invested in technical facilities that are rare in the region, at the cutting edge of oenological progress. The plot-by-plot approach is precise and the ageing processes are diversifying, but the sometimes excessive use of oak still masks the expression of certain vintages.

About wine:

Christophe Cordier is known for his white Mâcon and Pouilly-Fuissé wines. This Chardonnay expert has launched a wine trading business to develop a range of red wines. He has proven to be equally talented when it comes to Gamay, as evidenced by this 2012 vintage, which delighted the grand jury and boasts an intense, brilliant garnet color. The nose releases powerful notes of blackcurrant and spices. The palate is round and full-bodied, delivering aromas of black fruits with a hint of vanilla. About the estate:
