Rating: Burghound 89/100
This Viré-Clessé is made from biodynamically grown grapes and offers richness and beautiful intensity. Slightly reductive on the nose, it displays notes of wood, lemon, and acacia. The palate is very mineral and features an impressively long, dry, and savory finish.

Rated estate (2016 guide): 2 stars (A solid, recommendable vintage, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

A workaholic with a passion for terroirs, Christophe Cordier is always on the move, with his businesses constantly expanding—both the family estate and his wine trading operations. In both cases, he has invested in state-of-the-art facilities that are rare in the region, at the cutting edge of oenological innovation. The vineyard-specific approaches are precise and the aging styles are diversifying, but the sometimes excessive oakiness still masks the expression of certain vintages.

Rated estate (2015 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

Founded in 1945, the Cordier estate was taken over by Roger Cordier in 1971. The arrival of his son Christophe at his side a little over five years ago has not altered the wines’ exemplary style in the slightest. The estate has remained at the top of its game for many years.
