Once again grown in vibrant soil—this time on volcanic terroir known as Pierre Bleue de Brouilly—this Côte de Brouilly captivates with its deep color, releasing intense notes of ripe black fruit, blackcurrant, and spices. The terroir’s freshness and minerality combine to lend this great Beaujolais wine maturity, depth, texture, balance, and a long finish.

I’m not exactly objective when it comes to Gamay, which I’m particularly fond of—just like Syrah, for that matter. This cuvée, with its unexpected intensity, could easily pass this top-tier Beaujolais off as a Northern Rhône wine. To me, this winemaker is a true master of his craft. It’s a wine worth discovering and sharing. I’d wager that even fans of tannic, oaky blends will appreciate it.
