Didier Desvignes
In 1981, Didier Desvignes purchased his first vineyards in Morgon, under the name Domaine du Calvaire de Roche-Grès. This name derives from the presence of thirteen monumental menhir-shaped structures, erected in the early 20th century, standing amidst the vineyards.
Didier Desvignes is committed to producing quality wine with respect for the vines, applying great rigor and passion. This commitment is reflected in the controlled and judicious use of plant protection products and organic fertilizers, traditional soil cultivation methods, and harvesting ripe grapes at low yields.
Didier Desvignes views winemaking as a means of expressing the best of each of his terroirs. Consequently, he vinifies each plot separately to reveal the finesse and personality of each one. The use of oak is carefully controlled and harmonizes perfectly with the methods and style of Beaujolais wines, allowing the purity of the fruit to shine through.
