Domaine Jean Foillard

The family estate is masterfully managed by Jean Foillard, a true authority on Beaujolais wines from the Morgon appellation. The vineyard covers around 8 hectares of vines on the famous Côte-du-Py, with a terroir of decomposed granite schist that is characteristic of the cru. 
Jean Foillard has always been a fervent advocate of sound cultivation and winemaking methods, producing natural, precise wines without frills, made from very ripe grapes. The vineyard has been cultivated according to organic principles for 25 years, the grapes are harvested by hand, and fermentation takes place over two to three weeks at low temperatures without the addition of yeast, using whole bunches. Jean Foillard is now one of the elite producers in Beaujolais, delivering wines of exemplary smoothness and precision that are universally acclaimed.

Since 2001, the estate has sold all its grapes to SAS Foillard, a wine production and distribution company. At the same time, a wine merchant has been created for certain vintages such as Eponym' and Elles, whose grapes do not come from the estate but from a winegrower with whom the estate has a partnership with a cultivation charter.
