Peyrabon Castle
Château Peyrabon ranks among the elite of the Haut-Médoc appellation and, as such, benefited from significant investments in 1998: drainage of nearly all the plots, replanting of 15 hectares of vines using the highest-quality rootstocks (very early-ripening, low-yielding, and high-quality) and the optimal match of grape variety, terroir, and planting density.

Château Peyrabon is now on the path to “sustainable viticulture” in its vineyard: plowing rather than chemical weed control, systematic green pruning (systematic debudding, suckering, leaf removal, and thinning),

The cellars at Château Peyrabon have also undergone extensive renovations: the number of tanks has been doubled, and a temperature-control system has been installed. There are now 53 tanks ranging from 50 to 250 hl, serving 42 plots managed individually from pruning through blending. A semi-underground, temperature-controlled barrel cellar was built (capacity: 1,500 barrels). This set of practices now enables Château Peyrabon to produce an AOC Haut-Médoc wine of excellent quality.
