"A light but pleasant wine in its aromatic expression, centered on delicate fruity notes mingled with sweet spices. The palate follows the same smooth line, revealing a refined and mellow tannic structure that leads to a long and elegant finish." (Guide Hachette des Vins 2022 Edition)

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2020 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

It is owned by Philippe Castéja, who also owns Château Batailley in Pauillac and Trottevieille in Saint-Émilion. Well located on the plateau north of the town, the vineyard has always produced a consistent wine, which has gained in elegance in recent years.

Decanter

Decanter

Wine rated (2020 guide) 92/100

About wine:

Château Haut-Bages Monpelou is a Gem Pauillac, and once again, it is well worth buying. It is full of charcoal, pencil lead, and blackcurrant. A lovely wine with a beautiful tannic structure.

Rated estate (2022 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About wine:

A light but pleasant wine in its aromatic expression, centered on delicate fruity notes mingled with sweet spices. The palate follows the same smooth line, revealing a refined and mellow tannic structure that leads to a long and elegant finish.

About the estate:

The flagship wine of Borie Manoux, a venerable wine merchant founded in 1870 by the Castéja family, one of the oldest families in Pauillac, who have owned the estate since 1932. A beautiful 55-hectare estate at the southwestern edge of the appellation, which owes its name to a battle that took place on these lands in 1453.

Wine rated (2019 guide) 92-93/100

About wine:

It is dense and layered with hints of black fruit and earth, not to mention mushrooms and hazelnuts. Full-bodied. Juicy fruit and tannins.

Yves Beck

Yves Beck

Wine rated (2020 guide) 90/100

About wine:

Dense garnet red color with purple highlights. The bouquet is inspired by the terroir and its aging, with notes of graphite, black berries, and licorice. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied but also refined. It is well-balanced, with perfectly integrated tannins and good aromatic expression.

Anthocyanins - Yohan Castaing

Anthocyanes - Yohan Castaing

Wine rated (2019 guide) 91/100

About wine:

Slightly closed nose, with notes of spice and graphite. Quite classic on first impression. Moderately dense on the palate, a little harsh with firm tannins and a slight Médoc austerity.
