Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2015 guide) 92/100
Domaine rated (guide 2023) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the wine:
Some samples are dominated by woodiness, while others reveal a deep, full-bodied wine with a real richness of sap.
About the domain :
This cru has long been famous first for its white wine, one of the most complete in Léognan, then also for its red, at its best one of the most brilliant illustrations of the Pessac-Leognan character. The last decade has seen the return of Fieuzal Blanc to its highest level. The new, ultra-efficient winery, with its many small vats of varying capacities, in concrete, stainless steel or wood, now enables director Stephen Carrier to produce haute-couture.

Wine rated (2015 guide) 91/100
About the wine:
The black cherry aromas are still discreet, with moderate power and tannic strength. The house style is evident: firm and ample, with less relief than other Pessac estates, but the dark, velvety fruit is evident. Excellent ageing potential. 2023-2035

Domaine rated (guide 2023) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the domain :
This classified growth, located just south of Léognan, produced some of Bordeaux's finest whites in the 1980s. After being sold to Banque Populaire in 1994, Fieuzal declined until 2001. It was in this year that Irish businessman Lochlann Quinn acquired the estate, then hired Champagne's Stephen Carrier as its director. From that moment on, the vintage returned to an excellent level, with an obvious quest for body, elegance and tannin in the reds, and freshness now with the arrival of consultant Thomas Duclos. With failures (2013) and great successes (2008), the whites are gradually returning to their full, intense, ageable character.

Rated domain (guide 2023) Recommended
About the wine:
The complex, savory, herbaceous and earthy nose leads to a medium-bodied wine with real concentration and freshness on the finish, where the tannins are present but well integrated.

Vert de Vin
Wine rated (2016 guide) 92-93/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)

On the palate, this wine expresses notes of blackberry and crème de cassis combined with a touch of cherry, minerality, strawberry, licorice/chocolate, toasty oak and discreet hints of vanilla.
