“It remains one of the best white wines you can buy in Bordeaux! ~ Decanter”

“Of fine quality, with a slight acidity on the palate. It seems to have moved away from the slightly reductive style of Château Olivier’s white wines in recent years (I may be among the minority who miss that), highlighting rich flavors of citrus and lemongrass, accompanied by notes of spices and freshly cut herbs. It remains one of the best whites you can buy in Bordeaux.” (Decanter 2021) - Delivery in a wooden case is available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and selected shipping method)

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2020 guide): 3 stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)

About the estate:

This magnificent estate on the outskirts of Bordeaux has managed to preserve, in addition to its 55-hectare vineyard, a large expanse of forests and meadows. In the early 2000s, the Bethmann family undertook major renovations and entrusted the management of the estate to Laurent Lebrun. His meticulous approach and keen analysis of the terroir have led to a significant leap in the quality of the wines. The white wine, which traditionally contains a significant proportion of Sémillon, has become complex and elegant, with a well-defined personality; the 2017 vintage blew us away. The reds, now vinified to a much higher standard, express their excellent terroir with greater precision; they are expressive and energetic.

Rated wine (2023 guide) 2* Stars (Outstanding wine)

About the wine:

With its elegant pale gold color, this 2020 vintage showcases its youthfulness through the vibrancy of its bouquet of white flowers and hazelnut, set against a backdrop of rich oak. On the palate, it is well-balanced, both smooth and fresh, and reveals delicious notes of honey and toasted almond. A lovely bottle with aging potential.

Rated estate (2020 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

In just ten years, this Graves cru classé has undergone one of the most significant transformations in the appellation. Under the leadership of Laurent Lebrun, the wines have reached an excellent standard, and the commitment of Alexandre de Bethmann, the owner, is undeniable. He has invested significant financial resources to restructure the vineyard. It must be said that this property is absolutely magnificent! Nestled in the middle of a wooded area, it sits on a gravel terroir atop a splendid, well-ventilated hilltop, ideal for producing exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon. The latest vintages produced bear witness to this new dynamic.

About the wine:

Lively, tight, and mineral-driven, this wine is both crisp and textured. Citrus and green fruit notes bring freshness, along with hints of spice. The wine will develop great finesse with age.

Rated: Recommended

About the wine:

Rich aromas of pear, honey, ginger, and dried pineapple. Full-bodied. Well-structured with a crisp finish. A white wine that is very typical of this appellation. Ready to drink now, but will be at its best in 2024.

Terre de Vins

Wine rated (2021 guide) 93/100

About the wine:

This is a truly elegant, beautifully balanced wine. The nose offers notes of jasmine, cedar, and acacia. The tannins are fine and dense, like taut silk, and the delicate minerality adds depth to the wine. A tart, lingering lemon note tempers its liveliness. Château Olivier reaffirms its exceptional quality.

Wine rated (2021 guide) 93/100

About the wine:

Notes of crushed stone, waxy lemon, grapefruit, flowers, green apple, and lemon oil burst from the glass. Bright, fresh, creamy, and juicy, with Meyer lemon, mandarin, and a hint of honey on the palate, it’s already showing great promise.

This is the wine to bring out to silence anyone who doubts that the Bordeaux region can produce great white wines! The nose is impressive and captivating, and on the palate, it’s the best Sauvignon Blanc-dominated wine I’ve ever had the pleasure of tasting—with such vibrant citrus flavors, you’ll find yourself coming back to it again and again. Absolutely perfect with seafood.
