Château Olivier
Château Olivier produces a Grand Cru Classé de Graves in the Pessac-Léognan AOC, an appellation that has made spectacular progress over the last fifteen years. Steeped in history, Château Olivier is located 11 kilometers from Bordeaux, in the heart of a 220-hectare estate comprising meadows, century-old oak trees, pine woods, and above all, a 55-hectare vineyard on two distinct gravelly hilltops.
Château Olivier has the rare distinction of having excellent terroirs for both red and white wine. The low fertility of the gravelly and clay soils, combined with the early ripening climate, allows Cabernet Sauvignon to reach optimal maturity. The deep gravel terroirs on marl are very well suited to the production of Merlot, combining concentration and freshness. Finally, the shallow terroirs of the limestone slopes offer the best conditions for producing racy white wines, favoring fruity aromas and liveliness.
