Château Cos d'Estournel
Château Cos d'Estounel is part of Domaines Michel Reybier, located in the Saint-Estèphe appellation within the Bordeaux region. The Château Cos d'Estounel vineyard now covers 91 hectares. The vines are planted on the poor gravel soils of the hilltops and on the southern slopes. Cabernet Sauvignon (60% of the vineyard) thrives here. On the eastern slopes and hillsides where the limestone bedrock of Saint-Estèphe outcrops, Merlot (40% of the vineyard) excels.
Winemaking at Château Cos d'Estounel adapts to the character of the harvest, prioritizing the expression of the Saint-Estèphe terroir. Aging takes place in new merrain oak barrels, which subtly enhance the wine’s aromas and flavors with just the right amount of oak. In the eyes of fine wine connoisseurs, Château Cos d’Estournel has become the archetype of a certain style of virile elegance, where power excludes neither grace nor smoothness.
