Rated estate (2016 guide) 1*Star (A high-quality, recommendable wine that lives up to what one would expect from its appellation(s))
About the estate:
The Vignerons de Buxy cooperative, founded in 1931, currently has 342 members representing 1,164 hectares in the Côte Chalonnaise and Mâconnais regions and produces 75% of the wines from the Montagny appellation. The consolidation of numerous small family-run vineyards has enabled the creation of an efficient production facility committed to a genuine quality-driven approach to winemaking and production (Vignerons en Développement Durable). All of the wines presented in our blind tastings are of very respectable quality, demonstrating that the wine cooperative in the Côte Chalonnaise is active and capable of promoting its appellations. The value for money is extremely attractive for Burgundy.

Review by Mr. MATHIEU W. Posted on 12/24/2025
Medium-deep straw-yellow color. Nose: floral, white fruit, hazelnuts, and nettle. Quite expressive, pure, and refined. On the palate, a fresh and slightly salty attack of grapefruit and green apple, medium acidity, good body, and some length with a pleasant hint of bitterness on the finish. Pure and uncomplicated. Excellent as an aperitif (with a pleasant 12% ABV), but also enough body and substance to pair with food. Another delicious Aligoté. Score: 16/20
