From a little-known appellation that showcases the richness of the Mâconnais region, this Clos du Four cuvée opens with aromas of citrus and white flowers. A fresh, full-bodied white on the palate, with lovely minerality and a lingering finish. Don’t wait to try it!

Rated (2016 guide): 2 stars (A solid, recommendable wine, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous vintage)

About the estate:

A workaholic with a passion for terroirs, Christophe Cordier is always on the move, with his businesses—both the family estate and the wine trading operation—constantly expanding. In both cases, he has invested in state-of-the-art facilities that are rare in the region and at the cutting edge of oenological innovation. The vineyard-specific approaches are precise and the aging styles are diversifying, but the sometimes excessive oakiness still masks the expression of certain vintages.

About the estate:

Founded in 1945, the Cordier estate was taken over by Roger Cordier in 1971. The arrival of his son Christophe at his side a little over five years ago has not altered the wines’ exemplary style. The estate has remained at the top of its game for many years.
