“Body and tension in this Saint-Aubin 1er Cru”

The En Remilly vineyard is located southeast of Gamay, a hamlet in the village of Saint-Aubin, and enjoys a southwest-facing slope. This vineyard lends tension and minerality to this prestige cuvée from the Bertrand Bachelet estate. The voluptuous palate reveals notes of white flowers, flint, as well as beeswax and marzipan. Enjoy it now!

Wine rated 91/100 (2019 vintage)

Rated estate (2021 guide) 2*Stars (A solid, recommendable vintage, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

Bertrand Bachelet, a young winemaker who has been in business since 2011, runs this 13-hectare estate stretching from Maranges to Pommard. Sustainable viticulture and the Cordon de Royat training system are standard practice here, as are the massal selections developed from the estate’s oldest vines. A range characterized by wines with ripe, intense fruit. The reds, which account for the vast majority of production, are vinified destemmed in concrete tanks and feature silky tannins, while the whites, without stirring, offer roundness and aromas of orchard fruits—juicy and honeyed.
