Nicolas Fèvre - Saint-Romain rouge 2023
Coup de Coeur
Terre de Vins
"A hidden gem of a Saint-Romain with a rich, indulgent flavor that won't leave any wine lover indifferent—delicious!"
“At the foot of the cliffs of the small Saint-Romain appellation—which produces an average of 1,500 hl each year—where lions and bears roamed 100,000 years ago, Nicolas Fèvre is reviving a millennia-old terroir. On the plots planted by his grandparents nearly 80 years ago, he produces a cuvée of just 900 bottles. This 2023 takes us back to the wild: a vibrant morello cherry comes to life amid a hint of mint and eucalyptus. On the palate, the initial firmness gives way to a smoky velvety texture and a lingering hint of violet. It is the ideal pairing for Beef Wellington.” (Terre de Vins – March/April 2026 Issue)

About the estate:
Although Nicolas Fèvre’s main profession is wine consulting, he established his own small winery in 2014 by taking over part of the family’s vineyards—previously leased out—in Saint-Romain, Auxey-Duresses, and Bourgogne-Aligoté.
