“We always appreciate the freshness and the lively, tangy character of Fleur de Champagne Brut, the group’s most widely distributed cuvée—young, richly fruity, with a light effervescence that embodies the Duval spirit.” (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2015 - RVF). “A shining star shines upon this champagne, which is delicately floral and mineral on the nose, revealing on the palate aromas of citrus, white fruits, and honeysuckle within a very balanced structure. A harmonious aperitif champagne.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2014)

Rated estate (2024 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)

About the estate:

Under the energetic and passionate leadership of Carol Duval, now supported by her sons, this house—established in 1859 in Vertus, on the Côte des Blancs—has continually raised its standards. The estate’s own vineyards are extensive, covering 200 hectares, with a significant proportion of Grand Cru vineyards in the Côte des Blancs. This accounts for one-third of the house’s needs, which produces 5 million bottles annually. The cellar master is also a woman, Sandrine Logette-Jardin.

Hachette Wine Guide

Guide Hachette des vins

Wine noted (guide 2014) 1*Star (Very successful wine)

About the wine:

Founded in 1859, this company has been led by Carol Duval-Leroy since 1991. With 200 hectares of vineyards, it is the largest champagne house in the Côte des Blancs. While Chardonnay is often the sole variety in its cuvées, this one blends 15% Pinot Noir with the white grapes. All the grapes come from prestigious origins: Grand Crus and Premier Crus from the Montagne de Reims, the Grande Vallée de la Marne, and the Côte des Blancs. A brilliant star shines upon this champagne, which is delicately floral and mineral on the nose, revealing on the palate aromas of citrus, white fruits, and honeysuckle within a beautifully balanced structure. A harmonious aperitif champagne.

Rated estate (2024 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the wine:

People always appreciate the freshness and the lively, tangy character of Fleur de Champagne brut, the group’s most widely distributed cuvée—a young, fruit-forward champagne whose light bubbles embody the Duval spirit.

About the estate:

Located south of the Côte des Blancs, this family-run estate has thrived under the strong leadership of the direct and energetic Carol Duval-Leroy, supported by her sons Julien and Charles. A recent success story embodied by a dynamic widow—just the kind Champagne loves. This Belgian woman, passionate about hunting, has transformed Duval into a modern, accessible brand that is now a partner to sommeliers. The cellar’s floor space (barrel vinification, storage) has doubled since 2009. Sandrine Logette, one of the few female cellar masters, has been overseeing vinification since 2007. She carries on the spirit of innovation in an eclectic range dominated by Chardonnay, featuring a sparkling wine characterized by a creamy texture and fine bubbles.
