"The Femme de Champagne 2000 is another prestigious cuvée from Duval-Leroy and, honestly, it is even more beautiful, purer, and more delicate than the 1996. The purity and perfect tension, elegance and finesse are as evident on the nose (apple, brioche, white chocolate, hazelnut, floral aromas) as they are on the palate, where this medium-bodied to full-bodied wine leads to a firm, mineral and complex finish with great persistence." Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2015 guide) 17/20 (Reference wine)
Rated estate (2024 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)
About wine:
The cuvée is subtle and elegant. The bubbles are fine, the finish smooth and deep, with a nicely lively finish.
About the estate:
Under the energetic and passionate leadership of Carol Duval, now supported by her sons, this house, established in 1859 in Vertus, in the Côte des Blancs, has continually raised its standards. The estate's own vineyards are extensive, covering 200 hectares, with a significant proportion of grands crus in the Côte des Blancs. This represents a third of the requirements of the house, which produces 5 million bottles each year. The cellar master is also a woman, Sandrine Logette-Jardin.
Guide Hachette des vins
Wine noted (guide 2012) 1*Star (Very successful wine)
About wine:
The prestigious Femme de Champagne 2000 cuvée (€50 to €75) also honors Chardonnay (95%). The 1996 vintage was voted Favorite, and this vintage has been awarded a star for its aromas of honey and candied citrus fruits, as well as its clean, pleasant, and persistent palate.
Guide des Vins Gault & Millau
Wine rated 17/20 (Outstanding)
About wine:
The years pass, but the freshness of this vintage remains. An elegant style with aromas of vanilla, mushroom, medlar jelly, and citrus flavors on the palate which, together with the finesse of the bubbles, offer a beautiful balance. A distinguished champagne that is reaching its peak.

Rated estate (2024 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good-quality wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)
About wine:
The Femme de Champagne 2000 grand cuvée offers a sophisticated and colorful presentation.
About the estate:
Located south of the Côte des Blancs, this family business has flourished under the leadership of the direct and energetic Carol Duval-Leroy, supported by her sons Julien and Charles. It is a recent success story embodied by a dynamic widow, just as Champagne likes them. This Belgian woman, who is passionate about hunting, has made Duval a modern, accessible brand that is now a partner of sommeliers. The cellar area (barrel vinification, storage) has doubled since 2009. Sandrine Logette, one of the few female cellar masters, has been overseeing the vinification process since 2007. She perpetuates the spirit of innovation with an eclectic range of mainly Chardonnay wines, characterized by their creaminess and fine bubbles.
