Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2020 guide) 1*Star (A high-quality, recommendable wine that lives up to what one would expect from its appellation(s))
About the estate:
This talented winemaker has generated a great deal of enthusiasm among wine lovers, though we don’t always see what all the fuss is about in the wines we taste. Many seem too heavy or lack purity and finesse, despite their substantial body. Every now and then, a dazzling wine restores our confidence—most often a white.

Wine rated (2019 guide) 15/20 (Good wine)
Rated estate (2021 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)
About the wine:
An original rosé blend of Vermentino and Nielluciu: rich, peppery, voluptuous, and deep, this opulent wine with its velvety texture is sure to impress. Its finish reveals its rich alcoholic body.
About the estate:
After working as vineyard manager at the Leccia estate, Nicolas Mariotti Bindi took over an old, abandoned winery on the road to Oletta in 2015. He worked tirelessly to restore this facility, which allows him to better manage his production and work using gravity flow. The vineyard is certified organic, and the soil is cultivated according to best practices. Winemaking takes place in stainless steel tanks and 16-hectoliter cement eggs. These authentic wines, always full-bodied and velvety, offer a great frankness of flavors and are delicious in their youth, but also age well. Their high quality and unfailing consistency have earned the estate its second star this year.
