“An inviting nose with notes of black fruit and spices. A hint of smokiness, along with hints of char and wild grass, comes through, as well as nuances of bacon. The palate, dense and tight, features high-quality tannins. Its long aging will allow it to mellow.” (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2018 - RVF)

Rated estate (2020 guide) 1*Star (A high-quality, recommendable wine that lives up to expectations for its appellation(s))

About the estate:

This talented winemaker has generated a great deal of enthusiasm among wine lovers, but we don’t always understand why when tasting his wines. Many seem too heavy or lack purity and finesse despite their substantial body. Every now and then, a dazzling wine restores our confidence—most often a white.

Wine rated (2018 guide) 16,5/20 (Very good wine)

Rated estate (2021 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to the consistency and excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)

About the wine:

An inviting nose with notes of black fruit and spices. A hint of smokiness, along with notes of char and wild grass, comes through, as well as hints of bacon. The palate is dense and tight, with high-quality tannins. Its long aging will allow these elements to blend together.

About the estate:

After working as a vineyard manager at the Leccia estate, Nicolas Mariotti Bindi took over an old, abandoned winery on the road to Oletta in 2015. He worked tirelessly to restore this facility, which allows him to better manage his production and work using gravity. The vineyard is certified organic, and the soils are cultivated according to best practices. Wine production takes place in stainless steel tanks and 16-hectoliter cement eggs. These authentic wines, always full-bodied and velvety, offer a great frankness of flavors and are delicious in their youth, but also have the potential to age well. Their high quality and unfailing consistency have earned the estate its second star this year.

With a very delicate and light style, this wine is wonderfully fresh with a few lingering tannins. It should be superb in 3–4 years!
