Vega Sicilia - Valbuena 5° 2011

“The 2011 Valbuena was vinified plot by plot, the result of an in-depth study of the soil conducted during the 2010 vintage. 2011 was a very hot and ripe vintage in the region, and the challenge was to preserve the wine’s freshness. There are more aromas of black fruit, subtle spices, and hints of complexity, as well as fairly classic and more balsamic tertiary notes that develop in the glass. It is very different from the 2012 Alión—rounder, riper, richer, more polished, mellow, sweet, quite exuberant, and hedonistic. ” (Wine Advocate 2015 - Robert Parker)

Tasted in August 2020. Deep color, with aromas of ripe black fruit. Very elegant on the palate. The finest expression of the Tempranillo grape of the evening, and at a more affordable price than Unico. I highly recommend it!
