"Introducing Oremus Aszú wines, a 3 puttonyos made in the purest tradition and described by James Suckling as dense, creamy, and generous!"

"Attractive notes of candied pineapple, dried lemons, iced peaches, honeysuckle, and beeswax. Dense and creamy, yet fresh and lively, with a juicy acidity that comes through. Delicious dried fruit character with mineral notes. Drink now or hold." (James Suckling 2023)

Manual

Winemaking

Parcel selection, gentle pressing to obtain a high-density must, fermentation in new Hungarian wood barrels (100%) for up to 4 weeks.

Production method

This meticulous process is only possible in exceptional vintages and under conditions that favor Botrytis in the berries (the same process has been used for hundreds of years). Aszù corresponding to dried berries & "puttonyos" meaning "basket", the number before it, here "3", indicating the quantity of 25kg baskets of botrytized grapes added to a 136L "Gönc" barrel of must (unfermented grape juice) - so the higher the number, the higher the sugar content of your Tokaji!

Breeding

For 2 years in 136L and 200L barrels, then matured in bottles for a further 1 year.

Alcohol content

11,5%

Residual sugars

140 g/l

Eye

Nose

Fresh and complex, with scents of candied lemon peel, lime zest, peach and pear compote, with hints of lime blossom, chamomile and acacia honey.

Mouth

Fresh, intense attack, pleasant acidity with well-integrated sweetness, complementing an already rich aromatic complexity, we discover flavors of orange zest, vanilla and fresh almond making the whole deliciously gourmand, textured in a long, elegant finish.
