"A Tempranillo reminiscent of Cabernet Sauvignon following a hot year: jammy black fruits and dark chocolate are the order of the day!"
Alión 2022 is a powerful, rich wine characterized by intense black fruit aromas and a distinctly warm profile. The mid-palate offers a touch of sweet fruit, and the alcohol seems slightly more present than usual, but it is balanced by velvety, juicy tannins and beautifully integrated oak. Notes of prune and black plum give it an opulent, almost Cabernet-like character that will appeal to lovers of richer, more explosive styles. One of the most exuberant and fruity Alión vintages in memory. 2026-2040" (James Suckling 2025)

A ruby color of great finesse, with slightly pinkish highlights on the rim.

Fresh and elegant, it reveals a range of crisp, freshly picked fruit aromas: blueberry, plum, and blackberry, then opens up to more tertiary notes such as cedar, dark chocolate, with subtle hints of thyme and spices.
Mouth
Great finesse, fine-grained and elegant tannins, perfect balance and great mastery, flavors that are flawless on the nose, a long finish with deliciously salty and peppery notes.

About wine:
The Alión vintage released in 2026 is Alión 2022, a year they consider challenging, a hot, dry year when ripening did not follow the usual pattern: late-ripening vineyards ripened earlier and early-ripening vineyards took longer this year. Their obsession was to preserve the freshness of the wine, and they proceeded with gentler vinification and more cautious use of oak, using larger volumes and other materials such as concrete to tame a powerful, sunny vintage. The nose is serious and even shows a certain austerity. The wine is obviously juicier and rounder, with 14.5% alcohol, a pH of 3.89, and 4.58 grams of acidity, but it has very good overall balance. The tannins are round, polished, and slightly dustier than in other vintages, and the wine has a tender mouthfeel. A total of 270,870 bottles, 7,040 magnums, and a few larger formats were produced. It was bottled in May 2024. 2025-2035
