“As I’ve observed in recent years, the non-vintage blend of Único Reserva Especial (the 2019 vintage) is made with younger vintages than those typically used. In this case, they are the 2006, 2007, and 2009 vintages, and, of course, the most recent Único vintages. It is primarily made from Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) with a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon. It underwent a slightly longer barrel aging (the blend was bottled in June 2015, at the same time as the 2009 Único); therefore, the 2006 and 2007 components spent more time in barrels. “It has a character similar to the 2009, perhaps a bit more subtle and elegant but not really more complex, with fairly full-bodied tannins.” (Wine Advocate 2019 – Robert Parker) A rare and legendary vintage.
