"Crafted from a blend of three exceptional Unico vintages—2010, 2011, and 2012—this iconic Vega Sicilia cuvée embodies Spain’s time-honored tradition, making this bottle truly unique and extraordinarily complex!"

The NV Único Reserva Especial 2024 was produced from a blend of wines from 2010, 2011, and 2012, which is not very different from the previous vintage, which was made from 2009, 2011, and 2012, as the company is gradually trying to increase the average age of the wine. As I have observed in recent years, they are seeking a classic house style, combining more developed characteristics with elegance and freshness. [...] The color shows some evolution with a slight orange tint at the rim. The nose is complex and elegant, a more developed version of the 2014 Único I tasted alongside it, with aromas of truffle, forest floor, ripe black fruit, sweet spices, leather, and meat. The palate is thoroughly polished, with superb texture—smooth and elegant—featuring very fine tannins, subtle bitterness, and a long, lingering finish. It is a superb example of blending. 2024–2035” (Wine Advocate 2024) - Delivery in a wooden case is available for orders of 3 bottles of this wine (depending on country and selected shipping method)

About the wine:

The NV Único Reserva Especial 2024 was produced from a blend of wines from 2010, 2011, and 2012, which is not very different from the previous vintage, which was made from 2009, 2011, and 2012, as the company is gradually trying to increase the average age of the wine. As I’ve observed in recent years, they’re seeking a classic house style, combining more developed characteristics with elegance and freshness. This blend of Tinto Fino and a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon is also lower in alcohol, at 14%, with a pH of 3.85 and 5.1 grams of acidity. The color shows some evolution with a slight orange hue at the rim. The nose is complex and elegant, a more developed version of the 2014 Único I tasted alongside it, with aromas of truffle, forest floor, ripe black fruit, sweet spices, leather, and meat. The palate feels perfectly polished, with a superb texture—smooth and elegant—featuring very fine tannins, subtle bitterness, and a long, lingering finish. It is a superb example of blending. 2024–2035

About the wine:

Very well-rounded in every aspect, with an open bouquet that highlights the fruit. I love its freshness, which gives it depth. It’s a fragrant wine, with notes of dried herbs and plenty of cedar, yet it leaves no detail unaddressed—it’s complete. On the palate, it has a dark fruit character and a silky texture. A wine that will evolve, as it is less rich in tertiary aromas than average. A wine worth investing in, without a doubt. 2020–2040

About the wine:

Dried rose petals, sandalwood, cloves, balsamic vinegar, leather, and dried flowers. Dark fruits. Medium to full-bodied. It is tight and structured with a racy, intense finish. Tight on the finish. A blend of Unico vintages from 2010, 2011, and 2012. Then aged for ten years in wood and four years in bottle. Bottled in June 2019. Ready to drink or for aging.
