"This Vin Jaune is a real Gem "
Benoît Badoz likes to remind us that vin jaune is a "veil wine," a name derived from the famous veil of yeast that protects it from oxidation. This means that once opened, it can be kept for several days without deteriorating, allowing you to return to its aromas of dried fruit, marzipan, and apple tart, delicately punctuated with peppery notes. Then you discover an "old-fashioned" palate, as one taster describes it, in the best sense of the term, with more dried fruit and a lovely lemony finish." (Le Guide Hachette 2026)

About the estate:
He represents the tenth generation of Badoz in Poligny. Trained at the Beaune wine school, he returned to the estate in 2003 and inaugurated the winery in 2004. It took him a while to switch to organic farming, but certification was obtained in 2019. The estate's vineyards are located in the Roussots and Grands Roussots areas. Half of the estate is planted with Savagnin, but that doesn't mean the reds should be overlooked. He pushes the barrel aging a little too far on some vintages.

About wine:
Benoît Badoz likes to point out that vin jaune is a "voile" wine, a name derived from the famous veil of yeast that protects it from oxidation. This means that once opened, it can be kept for several days without deteriorating, allowing you to return at your leisure, as we have done here, to its aromas of dried fruit, marzipan, and apple pie, delicately punctuated with peppery notes. Then you discover an "old-fashioned" palate, as one taster described it, in the best sense of the term, with more dried fruit and a lovely lemony finish.
