Étoile
The l’Étoile appellation takes its name from the five vine-covered hills surrounding the village of l’Étoile, which form the points of a star, as well as from the pentacrines—star-shaped fossils—scattered throughout the vineyard.
The l’Étoile AOP covers 67 hectares. The primary grape variety is Chardonnay, but Savagnin and Poulsard are also grown. The l’Étoile appellation produces dry white wine, vin jaune, and straw wine.
