Its fruity and bold character, evident right from the nose, sweeps us away in a whirlwind of fruit (wild raspberry) and richness, with supple tannins. A highly fruity, energy-bursting wine perfect for sharing with friends, that vividly sets the stage for what’s to come... A beautiful expression of the Corbières terroir!

Guide Hachette des vins
Rated estate (2022 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines regularly receive awards from the guide)
About the estate:
As a consulting winemaker, Sophie Guiraudon couldn’t resist the call of the vineyard. With no family history in the business, she settled in 2000 south of Alaric, in a renovated sheep barn. It’s a small plot—just enough (12 ha) to grow, vinify, age, and sell her wine all on her own. Certified organic.

Wine rated (2023 guide) 90/100 (2020 vintage)
Rated estate (2023 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the pinnacle of French winemaking.)
About the estate:
Acquired in 2000 by Sophie Guiraudon, this estate then consisted of 4 hectares of old vines at high elevation, situated on a cool terroir in the town of Ribaute. Today, this trained oenologist cultivates 11 hectares using organic and biodynamic methods and is working to restore biodiversity, notably by replanting trees around the vineyard plots. Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, and Carignan express their pure character, thanks to a diverse geology dominated by clay-limestone with varying degrees of gravel and stones. This winemaker, who built this wonderful project from the ground up, vinifies without oak, focusing on purity.

Review and comment by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 10/31/2023
While remaining true to its southern character, this is a medium-bodied Corbières that brings the purity of the fruit, freshness, and garrigue aromas to the forefront on the palate. The palate is round, full-bodied, and generous, with a dense, smooth texture enveloped by an abundance of concentrated, fresh black fruit—slightly musky—and supported by pronounced, supple, and deep tannins. The finish is intense, with a hint of powderiness. What more could one hope for than this lovely, indulgent cuvée with hints of garrigue, shared among friends—exhausted but still in high spirits after a hunting trip—paired with butcher’s merguez and glazed pork ribs, cooked over the embers of a barbecue? A score of 4 for this wine for friends, which is very enjoyable to drink right now and has maintained the same price for the past two years—a rarity these days.
