About the wine:

Given the role that new oak plays in winemaking, it has left only a remarkably subtle imprint on the wine. The nose is very slightly smoky. Less rich and alluring than previous vintages, this Tête de Bélier is drier and livelier. There is a tropical note, but it evokes pineapple peel and green mango more than ripe pineapple and mango. The tension is much more pronounced. Apricot and bitter orange, lime zest, and matcha tea. Complex notes where bitterness, sweetness, aroma, and texture intertwine. The length on the palate seems to lie more in the way the wine continues to resonate long after the aromas have faded.
