Bettane & Desseauve

"A tasty, voluminous, harmonious cuvée. Great complexity perceived on the nose, ripe fruit, elegant oak, licorice, eucalyptus and tar, dense palate, with a tight frame, persistent aromas and a great fresh finish. Great potential. (Le Guide des Vins Bettane & Desseauve) To be snapped up!

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated 15.5/20 (Very good wine)

Domaine rated (guide 2025) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one has the right to expect from its appellation(s))

About the wine:

A tasty, voluminous, harmonious cuvée. Great complexity on the nose, with ripe fruit, elegant oak, licorice, eucalyptus and tar. Dense on the palate, with a tight structure, persistent aromas and a great fresh finish. Great potential.

About the domain :

Creisses refers to pebbles. Philippe Chesnelong took over this family estate in 1990. He is assisted by his cousin Louis Mitjaville, whose reputation has spread far beyond Saint-Émilion. The cuvée les-brunes is generally powerful, while the cuvée des creisses is more immediate and bursts with flavor. A truly fine address.
