Bettane & Desseauve

(Notes from the 2017 vintage)

A complex and deep local wine on the nose, opening with aromas of spices and red fruits, reminiscent of redcurrants and blackcurrants. A dense, fresh and structured red on the palate, with a long, spicy finish, full of power and character, supported by silky tannins... Perfect with local cuisine!

Bettane & Desseauve

Wine rated 15/20 (2017 vintage) (Very good wine)

Rated estate (2025 guide) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one would expect from its appellation(s))

About the estate:

Les Creisses refers to pebbles. Philippe Chesnelong took over this family estate in 1990. He is assisted by his cousin Louis Mitjaville, whose reputation extends far beyond Saint-Émilion. The Les Brunes cuvée generally plays on power, while the more immediate Les Creisses cuvée explodes with flavor. A truly excellent choice.
