"The 2007 Limoux is aging gracefully and displays elegant notes of plum, blackcurrant, and pencil shavings. Full-bodied, with ample fruitiness and beautiful complexity, it should continue to reveal itself well in the future." (Wine Advocate 2015 - Jeb Dunnuck) - Ready to drink!

Bettane & Desseauve

Wine rated (2011 guide) 16,5/20 (Reference wine)

Rated estate (2025 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)

About wine:

Long, powerful, intense in flavor, with a spicy note on the finish that gives it an astonishing dimension. The cedar finish is reminiscent of Pauillac, a Pauillac of fine origin.

About the estate:

A thorough understanding of the terroir (43 hectares of clay-limestone soil) enables the production of accomplished wines. The blend varies according to the vintage, between Atlantic grape varieties (Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon) and Mediterranean varieties (Syrah, Malbec, Grenache). The Chardonnays produce one of the best whites in the appellation. A new barrel cellar inaugurated in 2018 ensures the estate's progress and ambition. Managed like a classified growth, it is a safe bet.

Wine noted (guide 2011) 1*Star (Very successful wine)

Rated estate (2024 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly awarded by the guide)

About wine:

When you belong to the House of Rothschild, you can only produce top-of-the-range wines. Fortunately, the Baron'Arques estate, owned by Saint-Polycarpe Abbey in the 17th century, has everything it takes to satisfy its customers. Its clay-limestone terroir, microclimate, six high-end grape varieties, and dynamic winemakers all contribute to producing a remarkable wine with a bouquet that blends complex aromas of red fruits with notes of violet and spices. Generous and powerful, the palate will only reveal its full potential in four to five years' time, paired with a saddle of lamb in a salt crust or game in sauce.

About the estate:

Formerly owned by Saint-Polycarpe Abbey in the 17th century, this estate (now covering 43 hectares) was acquired in 1998 by Baroness Philippine de Rothschild (Château Mouton-Rothschild in Pauillac) and her two sons, who completely renovated the vineyard and winery, turning it into one of the appellation's most reliable performers.

About wine:

The vegetal notes are more pronounced in this 2007 vintage than in others. Overall, it remains pleasant and easy to drink. The tannins blend into a crisp fruitiness with hints of crushed blackcurrant.
