Domaine de Baronarques
In 1998, Baroness Philippine de Rothschild and her two sons acquired a 43-hectare vineyard estate in the town of Sainte-Polycarpe, near Limoux. Originally known as Domaine de Lambert, the estate was renamed Domaine de Baronarques upon the Rothschild family’s arrival.
Upon its purchase, extensive restoration work on the vineyard and winery was undertaken at Domaine de Baronarques. It wasn’t until 2003 that the estate’s first vintage was released, featuring a single cuvée. In 2008 and then in 2009, Capitelle du Domaine de Baron’Arques and the Chardonnay were successively added to the lineup.
