Domaine de Baronarques
In 1998, Baroness Philippine de Rothschild and her two sons purchased a 43-hectare vineyard estate in the town of Sainte-Polycarpe, near Limoux. Originally known as Domaine de Lambert, the Domaine de Baronarques did not change its name until the Rothschild family took over.
Upon its purchase, extensive restoration work on the vineyard and winery was undertaken at Domaine de Baronarques. It was not until 2003 that the estate’s first vintage was released, consisting of a single cuvée. In 2008 and then in 2009, the Capitelle du Domaine de Baron’Arques and the Chardonnay were successively added to the lineup.
