Domaine de Baronarques
In 1998, Baroness Philippine de Rothschild and her two sons acquired a 43-hectare vineyard estate in the town of Sainte-Polycarpe, near Limoux. Originally, the Domaine de Baronarques was called Domaine de Lambert; it was not renamed until the Rothschild family took over.
Upon its acquisition, extensive restoration work on the vineyard and winery was undertaken at Domaine de Baronarques. It wasn’t until 2003 that the estate released its first vintage, consisting of a single cuvée. In 2008 and then in 2009, the Capitelle du Domaine de Baron’Arques and the Chardonnay were successively added to the lineup.
