Plô Roucarels - Limoux 2011

Plô Roucarels - Limoux 2011

Despite being vinified and aged in barrels, Limoux white wine has a wonderful aromatic freshness. The woodiness is mellow, as if to give way to minerality. Delicate notes of almonds and white fruits bring richness and complexity to this wine, which is ready to be enjoyed at its best!

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2020 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

Julia Hubrich and Julien Gil are two passionate young winemakers who settled less than ten years ago on a rocky plateau at the edge of the Limoux appellation. They cultivate and vinify their nine hectares in the most natural way possible: "it is not the cellar that improves the wine, but the work of man in the vineyard." One can only admire the progress and consistency of all the wines from this estate, which has become a must-visit destination.

Rated estate (2021 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the estate:

Two young winemakers and a young estate, established in 2006. Originally from Dresden, Julia trained in Montpellier and Bordeaux. Julien, a native of southern France, has been passionate about cooking and wine since his teens and took a detour via the Médoc to learn the trade. The couple began by "saving" two hectares of old Carignan vines that were destined for uprooting, then acquired vineyards in the Limoux AOC. In total, they now have 10 hectares.
