Château Pierre Bise - Anjou Les Rouannières 2015
15/20
Bettane & Desseauve
Very fresh citrus aromas, giving way to notes of acacia blossom as the wine breathes. Tart on the attack, the palate is full-bodied, dense, fresh, and elegant, with subtle mineral and oaky notes, highlighted by lovely bitter notes on the finish. A superb Anjou!

Wine rated (2019 guide) 15/20 (Very good wine)
Rated 2 stars (A solid, recommendable production, though slightly more conventional and uniform than the previous one)
About the estate:
This 45-hectare vineyard, 80% of which is planted with Chenin, produces a wide range of white wines. René handles the winemaking, while his older brother Christophe tends the vines. They aren’t organic, to be sure, but the soil is worked “their own way.” In the cellar, the same meticulous care prevails, with a variety of vats of all kinds (stainless steel, cement, cylindrical, buried, 30-hectoliter wooden vats by Stockinger...), suited to crafting nuanced and complex wines. The sweet wines are the estate’s greatest strength, as is the Savennières series (13 hectares), impeccably balanced.
