Made from vines over 40 years old, Les Quartiers is a wine that fully expresses the power of its grape variety, Cabernet Franc, grown on clay-limestone soil. Still very young, it promises a bright future… for those who are willing to let it age for just two short years in the cellar. A must-try!

Wine rated (2017 guide) 15,5/20 (Good wine)

Rated Estate (2026 Guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to the consistency and excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)

About the wine:

The robust, chiseled character of the Quartiers—whose full-bodied flavors reflect the clay soils of their origins—is supported by crisp yet refined tannins.

About the estate:

Benoît arrived at the family estate in Bourgueil in 2003 to continue the family venture started by his father, Yannick, in 1997. Two-thirds of the vineyards are located in Bourgueil, with the remaining third in the neighboring Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil appellation. You can sense the winemakers’ perfectionism and their commitment to expressing the terroirs through Cabernet Francs that are silky smooth and refined, yet retain vibrant fruit. The estate has been certified organic since 2009, and the wines gain in purity each year thanks to increasingly refined winemaking techniques (truncated-cone wooden vats, oak barrels, and stoneware jars). The 2022 and 2023 vintages delight us with their frank, clean expression and finesse.

1 out of 3 tasted in June 2018: a bit short on the first sip. After half an hour, the nose opens up and becomes more complex, with nice acidity. The palate follows with lovely notes of cherries; the finish is a bit short. Very good, but a notch below a Grand Clos.
