Made from vines over 40 years old, Les Quartiers is a wine that fully expresses the power of its grape variety, Cabernet Franc, grown on clay-limestone soil. Still in its early years, it promises a very bright future… for those willing to let it age for just two years in the cellar. A must-try!

Wine rated (2017 guide) 15,5/20 (Good wine)

Rated estate (2026 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to the consistency and excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)

About the wine:

The robust, full-bodied wine from Les Quartiers, whose rich flavors reflect the clay soils of its terroir, is supported by crisp yet refined tannins.

About the estate:

Benoît joined the family estate in Bourgueil in 2003 to carry on the family venture started by his father, Yannick, in 1997. Two-thirds of the vineyards are located in Bourgueil, with the remainder in the neighboring appellation of Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil. You can sense the winemakers’ perfectionism and their desire to capture the essence of the terroirs through very silky and refined Cabernet Francs that still retain vibrant fruit. The estate has been certified organic since 2009, and the wines gain in purity each year thanks to increasingly precise winemaking methods (truncated wooden vats, barrels, and stoneware jars). The 2022 and 2023 vintages delight us with their frank, clean expression and finesse.

1 out of 3 tasted in June 2018: a bit short on the palate at first. After half an hour, the nose opens up and becomes more complex, with lovely acidity. The palate follows with lovely notes of cherries; the finish is a bit short. Very good, but a notch below a Grand Cru.
