"Dense and smooth, this vintage elegantly reveals an exceptional terroir."

Le Grand Clos 2023 boasts a rich purple hue, much brighter and more intense than the other 2023 vintages. It has a lot to offer. It is silky smooth and reveals aromas of ripe blackcurrant and raspberry. The clay component of the clay-siliceous soils gives it a mellow side that gives way to a mineral and ferrous finish. It is smooth, round, and more accessible than many Grand Clos vintages at this stage. You can of course wait, but you can also enjoy it now to appreciate its youth and supple tannins." Wine rated (2026 guide) 94/100

Rated estate (2026 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About wine:

2023 delivers floral Cabernet Francs with a depth that promises good aging potential. Le Grand Clos, meticulously crafted with a refined palate, can be revisited in 20 years.

About the estate:

Benoît arrived at the family estate in Bourgueil in 2003 to continue the family adventure started by his father Yannick in 1997. Two-thirds of the vineyard is located in Bourgueil, with the rest in the neighboring Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil appellation. You can sense the winemakers' perfectionism and their desire to express the terroir through very silky and civilized Cabernet Franc wines that retain their vibrant fruitiness. The estate has been certified organic since 2009 and the wines are gaining in purity every year thanks to increasingly precise vinification methods (conical wooden vats, barrels and stoneware jars). The 2022 and 2023 vintages delight us with their frank, clear expression and finesse.
