"Grand Clos 2023 boasts a rich purple hue, much brighter and more intense than other 2023s. It has a lot to offer. It is silky and reveals aromas of ripe blackcurrant and raspberry. The clay component of the siliceous-clay soils gives it a softness that gives way to a mineral, iron finish. It's suave, round and more accessible than many Grand Clos vintages at this stage. You can wait, of course, but you can also enjoy it now to take advantage of its youth and supple tannins." (Vinous 2025).

Wine rated (2026 guide) 94/100
Domaine rated (guide 2026) 2*Stars (These great estates, often endowed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the wine:
2023 delivers floral Cabernet Francs, with a depth that promises good ageing potential. In 20 years' time, we can revisit Le Grand Clos, meticulously crafted with a fine mouthfeel.
About the domain :
Benoît joined the Bourgueil family domaine in 2003 to continue the family adventure initiated by his father Yannick in 1997. The vineyards are divided between Bourgueil (two-thirds) and the neighboring Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil appellation. You can sense the winemakers' perfectionism and their desire to restore the expression of terroirs through very silky, civilized Cabernet Francs that still retain their bright fruit. The estate has been certified organic since 2009, and each year the wines gain in purity thanks to increasingly accurate vinification (truncated wooden vats, stoneware barrels and jars). The 2022 and 2023 delight us with their frank, clean expression and finesse.
