“A rich, silky, and full-bodied wine”

"The Grand Clos 2023 boasts a rich purple hue, much more vivid and intense than the other 2023 vintages. It has a lot to offer. It is silky and reveals aromas of ripe blackcurrant and raspberry. The clay component of the clay-siliceous soils gives it a smooth texture that gives way to a mineral and iron-like finish. It is smooth, round, and more approachable than many Grand Clos vintages at this stage. You can, of course, wait, but you can also enjoy it now to appreciate its youth and supple tannins.” (Vinous 2025).

Wine rated (2026 guide) 94/100

Rated estate (2026 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to the consistency and excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)

About the wine:

The 2023 vintage offers floral Cabernet Francs with a depth that promises good aging potential. Le Grand Clos, meticulously crafted with a refined palate, is worth revisiting in 20 years.

About the estate:

Benoît joined the family estate in Bourgueil in 2003 to carry on the family venture started by his father, Yannick, in 1997. Two-thirds of the vineyards are located in Bourgueil, with the remainder in the neighboring appellation of Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil. You can sense the winemakers’ perfectionism and their desire to capture the expression of the terroirs through very silky and refined Cabernet Francs that still retain vibrant fruit. The estate has been certified organic since 2009, and the wines gain in purity each year thanks to increasingly precise winemaking methods (truncated wooden vats, barrels, and stoneware jars). The 2022 and 2023 vintages delight us with their frank, clean expression and finesse.
