"A great Loire wine of great finesse. Succumb to its mad charm!"

"Les Malgagnes is the estate's historic cru, with ochre, clay and limestone soils, ideally situated on the hillside above the Village. Yannick Amirault has produced a flamboyant 2023, aged in barrels and jars, colorful, with expansive aromas of red fruit, toasted hazelnut and vanilla. The full-bodied palate, already very open, offers the sweetness of the vintage, served here by silky tannins and ideal freshness. The balance is perfect, the ageing judicious, the length on the palate: a great Breton and another "coup de coeur" for this benchmark winemaker. (Le Guide Hachette 2026)

About the domain :

Active in Saint-Nicolas and Bourgueil, Yannick Amirault is one of the established names in these two appellations. His son Benoît now cultivates the estate's 19 hectares of organic vines.

Domaine rated (guide 2026) 2*Stars (These great estates, often endowed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About the domain :

Benoît joined the Bourgueil family domaine in 2003 to continue the family adventure initiated by his father Yannick in 1997. The vineyards are divided between Bourgueil (two-thirds) and the neighboring Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil appellation. You can sense the winemakers' perfectionism and their desire to restore the expression of terroirs through very silky, civilized Cabernet Francs that still retain their bright fruit. The estate has been certified organic since 2009, and each year the wines gain in purity thanks to increasingly accurate vinification (truncated wooden vats, stoneware barrels and jars). The 2022 and 2023 delight us with their frank, clean expression and finesse.
