A full-bodied and intense nose with aromas of exotic fruits and honey, followed by a voluminous attack on the palate that is perfectly balanced with the nose. A wine with exceptional aromatic persistence, described by the winemaker as a sweet wine of great finesse.

Rated 2*Stars (A solid, recommendable production, though a bit more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

This 45-hectare vineyard, 80% of which is planted with Chenin, produces a wide range of white wines. René handles winemaking, while his older brother Christophe tends the vineyards. They aren’t organic, to be sure, but the soil is worked “in their own way.” In the cellar, the same meticulous care prevails, with a variety of tanks of all kinds (stainless steel, cement, cylindrical, underground, 30-hl wooden tanks by Stockinger…), suited to crafting nuanced and complex wines. The sweet wines are the estate’s greatest strength, as is the Savennières series (13 hectares), which is impeccably balanced.

About the estate:

This 46-hectare estate, formed by the merger of two family-run vineyards, has been managed by René Papin since 2010. The estate is particularly renowned for the quality of its white wines, both dry and sweet. A must-visit.
