“A delicate balance between structure and finesse”

Château de Selle stands out for its vineyard’s exceptional microclimate, which lends the wine tension and minerality alongside deep, intense fruitiness. A subtle and delicate balance gives way to a lingering, fresh finish with citrus notes and a hint of zest and saltiness.

Rated estate (2023 guide) 3*Stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)

About the estate:

The Ott family, prominent in the Provençal wine industry, began their winemaking journey by acquiring Château de Selle in 1912, Clos Mireille in 1930, and Domaine Romassan in 1956. Taken over by the Roederer group in 2004, the winemaking business continues under the guidance of Christian and Jean-François, the Ott cousins, demonstrating the family's continued strong involvement and ongoing shareholder status. Their finest wines are all rosés and consistently rank among the most successful in Provence.

About the estate:

Originally from Alsace, the Ott family settled in Provence in 1896 and acquired Romassan in 1956 (70 hectares at the foot of Le Castellet in the Bandol appellation). They also own Château de Selle and Clos Mireille in Côtes-de-Provence. Two appellations and a unique bottle, inspired by the Roman amphora. The entire estate (part of the Roederer Champagne house since 2004) is managed by cousins Christian and Jean-François Ott.
