Château des Tourettes - Tinus Chardonnay Plateau de l'Aigle 2019
16,5/20 Coup de Coeur
RVF
"A well-ripened Chardonnay with notes of yellow fruit, almonds, and dried fruit. The hint of reduction that tightens the aromatic phase refocuses the nose, and the oak is well managed. The palate is full-bodied with a fairly broad core, but the juice remains consistent and beautifully full-bodied with toasted nuances." (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2021 - RVF)

About wine:
A well-ripened Chardonnay with notes of yellow fruit, almonds, and dried fruit. The hint of reduction that enhances the aromatic phase refocuses the nose, and the woodiness is well managed. The palate is full-bodied with a fairly broad core, but the juice remains consistent and beautifully full-bodied with toasted nuances.
About the estate:
Château des Tourettes has a beautiful vineyard on the Apt plateau. Maine and Jean-Marie Guffens have almost completely restructured the vineyard, affirming their desire to create a beautiful terroir through massal selection replanting. The wines are faithful to Jean-Marie Guffens' style, always offering a balance between ripe grapes and a mineral tension on the finish. Jean-Marie and Maine are refocusing production on whites and putting an end to the Guffens du Sud négociant business.
