This “Bien Entendu” Chardonnay comes from a vineyard plot with very calcareous soil that isn’t too warm, ensuring slow ripening and producing perfectly balanced wines. The 2007 vintage has great depth and is very fresh with a long finish. It is certainly one of the best wines of the year (including Burgundy wines). Don’t hesitate to pick up a bottle! Screw cap.

Rated estate (2022 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or high-quality winemakers producing wines of a good standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

Château des Tourettes owns a lovely vineyard on the Apt plateau. Maine and Jean-Marie Guffens have almost entirely restructured the vineyard, demonstrating their commitment to creating a distinctive terroir through the replanting of massal selections. The wines remain true to Jean-Marie Guffens’s style, consistently striking a balance between fully ripe grapes and a mineral edge on the finish. Jean-Marie and Maine are refocusing production on white wines and discontinuing the Guffens du Sud wine trading business.
