Chardonnay
favorite

“A well-ripened Chardonnay with notes of yellow fruit, almonds, and dried fruit. The hint of reduction, which tightens up the aromatic profile, refocuses the nose, and the oak is well-integrated. The palate is full-bodied with a fairly broad core, yet the wine remains cohesive and beautifully full-bodied with toasty nuances.” (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2021 - RVF)

Rated Estate (2022 Guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or high-quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the wine:

A well-ripened Chardonnay with notes of yellow fruit, almonds, and dried fruit. The hint of reduction, which adds tension to the aromatic profile, brings the nose into focus, and the oak is well-integrated. The palate is full-bodied with a fairly broad core, yet the wine remains cohesive and beautifully full-bodied, with toasty nuances.

About the estate:

Château des Tourettes boasts a lovely vineyard on the Apt plateau. Maine and Jean-Marie Guffens have almost entirely restructured the vineyard, demonstrating their commitment to creating a distinctive terroir through the replanting of massal selections. The wines remain true to Jean-Marie Guffens’s style, consistently striking a balance between fully ripe grapes and a mineral edge on the finish. Jean-Marie and Maine are refocusing production on white wines and discontinuing the Guffens du Sud wine trading business.
