"One of the standout wines of the vintage, this ink-black 2012 Châteauneuf-du-Pape La Reine des Bois offers fantastic richness and depth in its aromas of blackberry liqueur, graphite, smoke, and mineral notes. An elegant, chic, and refined expression of this cuvée, which reminds me of the 2010 vintage. Medium-bodied to full-bodied, concentrated, and with fine tannins, it will be ready to drink in 10 to 15 years.” (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker)

Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2015 guide) 16,5/20 (Reference wine)
Rated estate (2024 guide) 4*Stars (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)
About the wine:
Beautiful color, wonderful texture, deep and complex.
About the estate:
The estate produces highly expressive wines from the finest vineyards of Vaucluse and Gard. Every effort is made with deep respect for the terroirs, driven by a commitment to crafting wines that live up to their full potential. Madeleine Delorme, alongside her daughter Ambre, continues to work with great care and determination, upholding the spirit of excellence that defines both the estate and this winemaking family. A superb range of salty, full-bodied whites and deep, delicate reds, animated by a refreshing tension and a perfectly balanced structure. The estate is evolving its style toward increasingly refined and precise wines. The fourth star is fast approaching.
Guide Hachette des vins
Wine noted (guide 2015) 1*Star (Very successful wine)
Rated estate (2024 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines are regularly recognized by the guide)
About the wine:
This "Queen of the Woods" looks stunning in its intense, luminous robe. The nose is just as intense, opening with black fruit and subtle oak. The palate is beautifully balanced, with plenty of body, structure, and freshness. A well-crafted wine, built to age.
About the estate:
Founded in 1986 by Francis Delorme and his son Christophe, the 58-hectare estate (certified organic and biodynamic) is spread across 38 plots and eight municipalities. Following Christophe’s untimely death in 2015, his wife Madeleine and their daughter Ambre took over the reins of the estate. Advocates of low yields, the Delormes produce vintages with disconcerting ease, whether in Tavel—their original stronghold—Lirac, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, or “simple” Côtes-du-Rhône. A must-try.
Guide des Vins Gault & Millau
Wine rated (2015 guide) 16,5/20 (Very good)
About the wine:
Powerful yet imbued with a certain delicacy of tone, this wine brings together the most tempestuous flavors—blue and black fruits, bramble and grape stems, hints of earth—within a sensual, sun-kissed shell, softened by a touch of bitterness!
