Robert Parker

"It stands shoulder to shoulder with the vintage's finest wines. The 2014 Gigondas L'Argnée Vieilles Vignes comes primarily from sandy soils and pre-phylloxera vines; the only catch is that there are only about a hundred cases of this wine. Offering superb notes of ground pepper, crushed flowers, violets, and spices, with a heart of kirsch and raspberry, this beauty is full-bodied, impeccably balanced, and features structuring yet ultra-fine tannins. It’s hard to find, but well worth the effort!” (Wine Advocate 2016 - Robert Parker)

About the estate:

Over the past 15 years, the Perrin family of Château de Beaucastel has expanded by acquiring vineyards in the southern Rhône Valley. This strategy has proven successful both in the Luberon, with La Vieille Ferme, and in the other terroirs featured here. Their mastery of fermentation and appropriate aging techniques have played a major role in this success.
